Is is possilbe to connect a Dlink wirless router to an 8 port wired router for the purpose of adding wireless computers?

I have this house that has been wired with ethernet cables. The eight cables are connected to a router which then go to eight rooms in the house. The router is connected to a cable modem though its WAN port. Not every room in the house is wired Everything is working fine, but this is a big house and I want to use a laptop with a wireless card in every room in the house plus on the deck. Can I connect a Dlink wireless router to the wired router and get a wireless net in the house? If so how do I connect the two?
