is it just me or do you have to set your games at really high details and resolutions to get the best out of the geforce3? it looks like if you don't, the ultra can beat it at lower resolutions

I don't. I'm happy running my games @ 1024*768*32bit res. I don't see the need for pumping the res all the way up, especially when I can't notice the quality difference and doesn't add to the games that I play (mostly racers).

Perhaps its just me, but do you REALLY notice that big of a difference between 1024 res and 1600 res? The text are too small for me, for application and gaming. To me, the purpose of getting a decent sized monitor (17-19") is so I can clearly see things @ decent font and quality without having to squint.

Just my 2US/3Cdn cents :)

No, not really. The GF2 Ultra edges the GF3 in certain CPU limited situations, but the difference isn't high enough for anyone to panic about it.

Of course the GF3 does much better in high res/high detail situations, which is exactly what it was designed for.

i guess using the 32-bit colors could give a boost in comaparison with the geforce2 ultra
