Is is better to......

Is it better to get a 4k monitor with 60hz or run a 1440p monitor at 144hz if you are getting a constant 130-140 fps in games? Like you wont be really noticing improvement over 120 fps right? So would it look nicer if you could run 4k at a constant 60 fps or 130 fps on a 144hz on a 1440p?

How far away are you sitting from your monitor as 4k monitors need to be bigger and will be a issue for most normal desk use where you sit 2-3 feet from it.

The game will look smoother at 144hz obviously on the 1440p and nothing will run that amount of fps on 4k alone right now unless the game is a very low quality game.

the fps you get will depend on the resolution; if you get 150fps from a 1440p monitor, you will not get the same from a 4k monitor.

but the question is .. which one do YOU want more.

4k is more relevant for the detail. on the other hand, a faster refres will make *moving* images clearer.
if you play normal games, such as call of duty, witcher .. idk any more, i dont play those game. anyway, if you play THOSE games, then a 4k is preferable.
(although you do have to understand that some titles, like witcher 3, will have a much slower framerate in 4k due to the detail and various effects, such as HairWorks)

if you play FAST games, say, a scifi racer game, or maybe even Overwatch, then the 144hz monitor is what you want.

One is for show, the other is for hardcore users.
