hi!

i have heard the rumour that intel is developing a certain chip that can compress/decompress the contents of RAM in realtime. it would work like the ram doublers (magnaram etc.) in older days, only that this time the CHIP would do the work, not the CPU, so that it would REALLY have an effect on the system speed (in contrary to the software ram doublers which hadn't). is this rumour true? do know any details? where can if find further information? when will it be released? will it be possible to continue using old RAMs with something like an adapter?

thanks for your help!

If it's true, sounds good to me...I hope they haven't told Rambus about this ;)
