Infineon used to make some of the best OC performing PC133 3~4 yrs. ago. Very popular back then. Don't know about their DDRs though.

Infineon ramchips are what you DON'T want when your buying ATI video cards. They don't allow for the same overclocks as their Samsung counterparts. But for your main system RAM, if you don't plan on overclocking or running super tight timings, Infineon is just fine. It is widely used in OEM boxes.

What is the easiest way to determine which RAM is used on my 9700? I suspect it's the Infineon, as it doesn't seem to like overclocking much at all, but could that just be due to stock cooling?

I have been using different Infineon OEM sticks for years now on different machines and never had any problems with it at all.

If u keep 'em at standard settings, go for it!

If u wanna oc them, go for them as well and tell us what happened :D
