though their dishes seemed ok and they're by the piece, so you don't end up with saucers and things you don't want.

I'd say 50/50. None of it is great, but their kitchen stuff isn't bad and every now and then they have a piece of furniture that isn't entirely pressboard or a lamp I like.

Lol, I was born in Texas, moved to New Mexico, moved back to Texas, then back to New Mexico, then Colorado, and am now in Virginia. Im 18 and still with the parents so I or we have never had to buy anything "budget" quality as far as furniture goes.

Yep, my gf has a set of glasses she bought there 5 or 6 years ago in college and not a single one has broken. Pretty impressive for the price. She bought them because she figured they were semi-disposable.

Actually, they're the glasses that are on the front page of the US site right now.

Where in Virginia are you? There is an IKEA at Potomac Mills. Near Williamsburg. 45 minutes to D.C.

ikea has 2 ends of the spectrum... really really cheap home accessories and really exspensive home furniture... you can spend $2k on a couch from ikea depending on what its covered in

as for quality - i know a bunch of people w/ their beds and coffee tables and they are all decent quality, nothing that looks like it came from walmart or anything

im actually planning on buying one of their bed frames soon

I heard the big furnitures (beds) they make kinda crap. but boy they look contemporary and young... :)

some of their stuff is really great
some of their stuff is real crap

don't buy online, don't pick and choose from the catalog and go in to pick up
to buy from Ikea - you MUST go there, check the stuff, buy only good stuff

their desks are the best, i own 3 JERKERs

I have to agree with jntdesign, I simply love a lot of their Office and Work furniture. Planning on getting a lot of things from Ikea when I move out (won't happen anytime soon) :)
