Well is hunting a redneck activity? and if so explain your reasoning.

im not talking about going out back shooting a squirrel. but actually going out, sitting waiting for the deer or whatever, doing the calls etc. and then shooting them.

is it redneck or not?

I think it is something that some rednecks happen to do. I enjoy different types of hunting, and certainly don't consider myself to be a redneck. Hunting, in and of itself, is not redneck.

many people classify me being a redneck(accent+ living in arkansas) but i don't see it as a redneck sport seeing as it's done all over the world. hunting goes all the way back to who knows when.

i hunt duck, crow, hog, and cats

ps- kidding about the cats;)

The same people who call that redneck are the same ones who you could classify as pasty-skinned geeks. I consider drooling over a video card to be geeky.

well I have meet a lot of professions that would be far from redneck. Earnest Hemingway wasn't even close to redneck either.

Hunting tends to be redneck, but not all hunters are rednecks. So I guess the act of hunting is redneck but the people doing this act are not.

Redneck activities can be fun. I'd rather party with a bunch of Rednecks that spend a night huddled with a bunch of Clearasil Warriors at a LAN Party.

Depends on how you hunt. I like to mix it up with alittle redneckish with alittle urban style drive-by.

Considering that the hunting industry (accessories, licensing, guns, stands, calls, etc.) generates billions of dollars annually worldwide, I would certainly have a hard time classifying it as a "redneck" activity. Sure, there are rednecks that participate, just like their are idiots that post on ATOT. That doesn't mean that posting on ATOT is strictly for idiots. :D

Definitely not. To think so is retarded.

There is a certain satisfaction to killing something to bring home for the dinner table. Feels just a bit more natural than going to the store and buying something out of the coolers. I guess it is a me>nature thing.

I do not agree with hunting for the sheer element of killing something though.

One other thing that I don't find very cool is using the latest crap to get every advantage over the quarry. I feel much better using methods that are basic and levels the playing field a bit. That is a skill.

Just can't relate to that, if you want to challenge yourself compete with a human intellect. It's a game to you, and that's not natural at all.
