Started cleaning out the freezer. The lasagna should still be good, right? I shook off the caked on ice and tossed in the oven so I hope so.

mmmm, 2 year old pork and beef with sauce.

Of course! That green stuff around the sides is spinach, though, right? :p

You do know that freezing does not stop decay, it just slows it down. Enjoy the food poisoning. Stomach pump. Runny poop. That is if you can stomach the food.

Let me know how that turns out. The top of my wedding cake has been taking up space in the freezer for nearly 3 years now, and I'd love to use your experience to convince my wife to throw it away. If that fails, I think I'll try to "lose" it when we move to our new house.

Well so far it smells delicious so I'm not sweating it. Just wanted to make sure.

And for sure, the green stuff actually is spinach. There's some 8 month old marinara as well that will go on it to finish, that's good too?

Unsure if noodles would be ok, but I know after leaving a pork roast in the freezer for a year it cooked up super tender and yummy.

Yeah, the ice itself tells me you didn't wrap it well enough. Air is your enemy here. I double wrap my freezer bound stuff, first in cling wrap SO THERE'S NO AIR, then in tin foil which touches only the cling wrap.

You won't die, OP, but I think you're find the flavor and texture (for "mouth feel", an indispensible part of your eating experience) have gone bye-bye.

Sauces get better tasting over time as the flavors fully meld together. But there is a limit to that. ;)

I may have exaggerated on the ice. I always suck out the air of things I freeze, kinda like a spidey vacuum sealer. Grab the freezer bag, mostly close it and just leave a small opening, suck out all the air and close.

Though the presence of some ice does mean your seal was breached, the above plus if spinach means no meat augurs well! Bon appetit!

The OP has disgusting hygiene. This scenario doesn't surprise me.

Well it was delicious. Had to eat around the spinach layer as it didn't taste right. Had a fermented taste to it. Otherwise very good.

I rarely eat things over 1-2 months old myself. I think I might break that habit though, since I bought $200 of steaks last time safeway had a sale :D

Odd. Was there perchance any ricotta on the same layer?
