is heavy cream a good component of a weight gainer shake?

I've been making a single shake almost every morning now to go with my workout routine (I'm putting my muscle mass back on). I have an extremely high metabolism so I have no problem burning through anything. Right now my shake is 1.5 cups whole milk, 3/4 scoop of gnc 2200 weight gainer, 3 scoops of whey protein (about 30g), and some chocolate syrup for flavor. I just started adding about 8tbsp of heavy cream to the shake for calories (~200) and because I heard that your body needs to burn fat too so it's used to it (heavy cream has a lot of fat). What are your thoughts on this?

lol thats like more than your whole daily value in one shake heh.

honestly i dont know much about using weight gainer because protein shakes + eating a lot is more than enough when trying to bulk up, and it is more fun eating whatever you want :)

however I used to use whipping cream when I was doing my lean phase and doing low carb. i would use water, heavy whipping cream, and protein mix. it was abou 50g protein and only 4g of carbs. worked out well.

so i guess what im trying to say is yea, whipping cream is fine for shakes :)

Heavy Cream has a lot of saturated fat and is generally an unhealthy fat. You'd be better off with a different type of fat that is mostly "healthy" fat. Use peanut butter instead. Nuts = healthy fats.

I put peanut butter in shakes all the time. I use a blender though. Other alternatives for shakes would be fish oil, flaxseed oil, or even virgin olive oil. All are healthy fat, may not taste the greatest, but you don't have to use much and all have health benefits above just being extra calories.

they even make fish oil pills that you just swallow. i've used them and they have no taste or anything but give you all the benefits of the fish oil. good alternative.
