Heres my scenario, i'm currently connected to my TV via VGA output from my MB.

If i plug in the HDMI cable to my MB, should it detect it and allow me to switch outputs to it while still in windows? or will i need to restart?
 
just plugged in the HDMI cable, and my display looks like it auto detected it and switched. But how can i tell? I'm using the AMD 785 and i have CCC. Where should i look to change between HDMI/VGA?
