I want to try out Windows Vista for a reason i dont feel like getting into. But my concern is wether the overlay and VMR hardware accelerations in Windows Media Player in Windows Vista Betas will be enabled and functioning. Because if they are not, then the usual screen tearing and very slow playback will take place, and that will clearly deter me from downloading and installing this new OS.
I know that there is an Nvidia driver for the 7900GTX for the version of Vista Beta that i am intending on downloading, but Nvidia doesn't seem to put any emphasis on thier claim that hardware acceleration and performances are limited.
Thanks.
PS: And what's with this "built for Vista" logo on the 7900GTX? I know the 7900GTX does not have DirectX10, so is it really true that it is designed for Vista or is that just some marketing nonsense.
