Is hard disk sentinel professional worth it?

hard disk sentinel professional is 35.00 right now. Is this software worth the cost?

I don't think so. I'd use SpeedFan to get SMART values, and if you're really interested in benchmarking, I'd find a free utility, or write a script to check throughput.

It's worth it if you need the "special" features like disk->Surface Test->Reinitialize disk surface to sort out bad sectors on a problematic disk,it's gonna write/read every sector "repairing" some of the bad sectors that got bad due to windows or other failures,afterwards it will give you a rundown on the sectors and give you the real picture on weather a disk is still usable or not.

Not worth it to me. No need for "special features." Sounds like what Gibson Spin-Rite does.
