Is half.com going away?

I seem to remember reading here that eBay is ditching half.com or something but can't really find any info online aboot it. I would like to list a bunch of textbooks (Windows 2000, Cisco, Net+, etc) on there and sell them just a bit cheaper than the current low prices so that I can can make some quick cash and free up some shelf space.... but if the site is going away I'm kinda leery about it.

Any info/links/etc?

I don't think so. I think eBay canned it for a few days but brought it back...

Half.com and eBay are dedicated to providing the best possible services to sellers and buyers. To that end, we are continuing with our plans to integrate Half.com and eBay. We began this integration process two years ago by first combining the customer service functions of both sites into one, and then with the integration of registration, User IDs and feedback. You can now use the same User ID on both Half.com and eBay.
While you shouldn't expect dramatic changes this year, in 2004 we will further combine the two sites until Half.com is fully integrated into the eBay platform. At that point, the Half.com brand and site will go away, and the Half.com functionality will be available within the eBay site. In the meantime, we will continue to build the Half.com business in order to provide you with the best experience possible.

We intend for this transition to be seamless and easy for sellers and buyers on both sites. Many of the details of how the transition will take place are not yet available. We will provide regular updates on the Half.com Announcement Board and in email before changes occur.

Kinda scary - I really like how you can search by ISBN and find all sellers for the same book. I'm not sure how eBay will be able to accomplish it with the way they're set up.

Eventually I think both sites will merge. There's an overlap between eBay's BuyItNow! and half.com.

It's definitely going to be killed sooner or later, though ebay will integrate more of half's "features". Of course, for the seller all this means is more fees to pay.
