Is Guy Fieri the most annoying muppet on television?

Diners Drive-ins and Dives might otherwise be ok if it were not for that annoying muppet Guy Fieri. First of all what kind of name is Guy? Is that like that other muppet Guy_Smiley? And whats up with always having sunglasses behind his greasy hair placed behind his neck? Of the other 6 billion humans on the planet, he thinks he is the only person that is cool enough to look so ridculous. Then comes the pinkey ring, scratchy voice, stupid comments, camera always 1/1000th of an inch away from his face, etc.

I do not think he is cool, he doesnt remind me of anyone I know, I would not like to friends with him, and his knowledge of food is unimpressive. The Food Network really laid an egg this time.

The GF is watching that show right now. It is the reason I walked out of the bedroom. He is annoying beyond belief.

0/10... rant fail

Guy Fieri is one of their most successful TV personalities. How many other personalities transitioned from Food Network, to NBC?

That show makes me hungry :awe: I actually ended up going to a burger place in Truckee just one day after he'd been there, I could have been on TV :(

Love the show but Guy was a guest on Dinner Impossible once and he was an absolute lazy fuck.

I try to watch the show because I like watching The Food Network. Ive even tried raising my hand to cover the TV when Guy comes on but its like this:

1) Show Guy ...3 seconds
2) Show guest... 4 seconds
3) Show food....4 seconds
4) Back to Guy, make stupid comment ... 3 seconds
5) Back to food...4 seonds
6) Back to Guy who sticks fingers in the food....3 seconds
7) Annoy the guest .... 20 seconds
8) Repeat

So I have to raise my hand so often its tedious.

I'd trade Guy Fieri's California 'mugging' for Anthony Bourdain's New York disdain any day of the week.

i agree. the show would be so much better with someone else. someone not so annoying like Alton brown. though he is getting old dand over shown.

though the show AB did where he was on the motorcycle going all over was great. it was kinda the same type of show.

So.. let me know when your cooking show is on?
Or where your restaurants are?
Or When your books are coming out?

Or are you too busy being paid to travel across the country by a TV network to eat food and talk about it?

oh .. that's right.

You don't have any of that.

He's not my favorite food network host, but he's leagues better than Bobby Flay

He doesn't do anything for me. I don't hate nor love him. I prefer Adam on Man vs. Food. His jokes are cheesy, but that's what it's supposed to be anyway. Maybe that's what's likable about Adam. The Travel Channel hosts are way above the Food Network hosts.

so what? just because a person hasn't done those does not mean he can't critique the show or person.

I hated him, but really started enjoying DDD. I still think he is a tool, but oddly entertaining.

The Travel Channel hosts are way above the Food Network hosts.

except Andrew Zimmern.

A TV chef is supposed to let the audience "taste" the food they're eating with their expressions, descriptions, etc..

Every time Andrew tastes a piece of food... his expression makes it seem like its the worst thing he's ever eaten... then he goes to explain it like this:

oh. wow. oh. this is good. wow. oh. wow. you should really try this. wow. oh. wow.

There;s a way to critique so that it doesn't sound like you're hatin' for the sake of hatin' ...

Haters always gonna hate.

I agree that he does a little too much of the wow-oh-gosh face, but he does explain a lot as well. I'd still take him over any of the Food Network hosts.... except for:
