Is gouda cheese supposed to smell like old socks?

gouda doesn't smell as bad as brie imo, I love the taste of brie but the smell makes me want to vomit.

I went to a jewish wedding once and they cut open the brie....i damn near passed out. I just could NOT get passed the smell to try it. Damn i will say though...the jewish people that where there ate ever last drop of it. My stomach was turning.

it TASTES really good which is funny, usually food that smells bad tastes bad as well.

limberger + worcestershire sauce and green onions = good
i'm a limberger fan myself. i douse it in mustard with a cracker chaser. :)

i'm a limberger fan myself. i douse it in mustard with a cracker chaser. :)
My dad use to set a plate of Liederkranz or Limberger on a sun drenched window sill to ripen for a couple of hours. Great for driving the neighbors away and drawing flies. We had window screens so everything was sanitary. ;)

They have the texture if Brie and have a somewhat smoky flavored acquired taste. They also have the ability to clear up a sinus infection.
