Is Google NOT your friend?

I think they know of all the freaky sh!t you search for. But what would you use if not google? You can use yahoo, but how do we know that they are not doing the same thing?

....And the government is out to get me.... Area 54 is a big coverup.... Anal probes happen!... I mean with aliens.... Not the kinky freaks!!!! It's all marketing. Do you think they are spending billions of dollars to build you a personalized porn searching engine for the fun of it? Clear your cookies from time to time and just chill!

lol. Well i suppose now if one of us comits a crime, the CIA will contact google and tell the whole world that we were surfing porn sites. Yeah, like the CIA members don't surf for porn.

I love his little chart relating all money going to google. Over bias and parnoid shcizophrenia seem to be the only problems with this guy. Ohh wait and yeah non-credibiity.

Sssshhhhh! ironk.... Porn is just another CIA coverup. If they knew that I let that out... ssshhh is someone there? Ahhhhhhhhhhh! They got me....... Spread the word, but don't use google!

Well, they could know things I search for, but I doubt they could attribute it to me. 😕

Anyway, I loved google so much before. However, google appears to be following the path of its predecessors. The quality of search results is starting to depreciate. In fact, I've had to rely on other search engines (e.g. using dogpile.com) occasionally to get good results.

I wonder if anyone else feels this way about google. The problem with sites like google is: They start with giving you good service. You get so sucked in with the quality of service (add that with good publicity/name). Then gradually they remove it and you don't note it. Only a few people observe it early, otherwise it takes a significant change for people to notice.

Meh. I know Mike Moritz and Sequoia, they exude no pressure on google whatsoever. It's one of the few .com's in their portfolio that performed beyond expectations.

well, you could use another search engine, but where are you going to go for something like 'google groups' ?

It's not as much Google changing anything, as is it website spammers changing tactics. They're getting better and better at conquring PageRank as the days move by, resulting in 'worse' search results for everyone. Google can change their own tactics a bit, but if Google fails one day, it's going to be the result of the spammers killing it, not Google doing something to kill themselves.
