Is Golden Orb good enough to overclock?

I want overclock my P3 600e to 800..
I have a golden orb for cooling.
I was wondering, if this is enough for me to overclock..
I don't plan to go higher than 133FSB..

Is your P3 slot or socket?

I have a slot P3 600E that ran @800 (133 FSB, 1.65V) for 5 months straight with a GlobalWIN VGS08H cooler and arctic silver. I just took it (amazing) to a gig over the weekend (167 FSB, 1.85V). The VGS08H seems to be holding okay but it is one of the models that uses a thinner HS but has 2, 6000 RPM fans on it (so that the whole thing doesn't block too many of the DIMM slots). It fit okay in my BE6-2 (I think blocking only the closest DIMM slot) but I was considering a bigger unit to handle this latest OC. I'll need to measure so that it doesn't block the entire bank...

The P3 600 is Socket chip..
It's SL3NA, I will be happy if it does 800.

also, I thought the orb was quiet..

its quieter then the fop, but anything is quieter then that monster:p It is the loudest thing in my system, and quite annoying.

I have a FOP32 on my Duron. It's not bad at all...
For socket chips, it'll probably come down to how much you want to spend... ;)

Alot of people like the Alphas but the GORB might be okay for your application since the P3s don't get as hot as the AMDs...

the Gorb will be fine for that OC. i have a gorb on a socket P3 700e @ 1050 mHz @ 1.7v and my CPU idle temp is 32C. my full load temp is 38C. and according to dBA statistics all over the web, the Gorb is also quieter than most other air coolers such as globalwins and alphas.

well golden maybe is fine for that. Why not go for a alpha? previously i was using g orb to overclock my celeron2 633@950.The average temperature was 34 celcius ...max will be 48 celcius. My system was is damn hot during the afternoon so i decided to change to alpha for a try.It works great ! alpha 6035 thats wat i get.... the max temperature drop to 38 celcius with artic silver. Even during the day time was 30 celcius. it is definately worth it! i even can overclock to 1 GB but too bad not stable enough :p
