Too much work. I don't see this catching on.

If I received this, I'd toss everything and keep the candy.

LOL, great advise - "hey kid, grab a bag, walk up to a neighbors porch in the dark and leave it there." "What? no, no need to worry about the homeowner mistaking you for a burglar and sending bullet through your chest. Just do it, it's fun!"

Suburbanites .

HA! Exactly.

Another trend starting in my area..."Trunk or Treat".

It's where people in a neighborhood go to a parking lot, open the trunks of their car, stand by them and you just walk around "trunk or treating" for candy.

Halloween is dead.

come to my neighborhood. We have hayrides for the kids, people sit out in their driveways giving out candy to the kids and many still decorate their houses.

All the churches around here have signs up about that "trunk or treat" bullshit. God needs to keep his dirty mitts off of Halloween.

Eh, my gf's brother and his wife do it (with their kid). They live in a rich neighborhood, so they usually participate in these stupid new white people rituals.

When I saw the "Trunk or Treat" sign at a local church, I instantly knew what it had to be, & got a little sad thinking about it. Just ridiculous.

The amount of quotes is killing me:

Now it's your turn to "ghost" two other people in your neighborhood.

You should "ghost" these people within 2 days of receiving your treat.

Hang the ghost on your front door so that everyone can see that you have been "ghosted" and will not ghost you again. This will also let you know who you can ghost.

Fill 2 bags with candy and treats. Copy this letter and the ghost twice. Include treats, letter, and ghost in your bag of goodies for the neighbors that you choose.

After dark, and only with an adult, "ghost" 2 of your neighbors. Do not let the person that you are "ghosting" see you, for it adds to the fun of it all. Place the treat bag on the doorstep, ring the doorbell and run!

It will be fun to see how many ghosts will appear in our neighborhood by Halloween.
Please keep it safe and enjoy!

We do this at Christmas with friends...you just bake them something yummy and doorbell ditch them. Just something fun to do as a family. This ghosting thing sounds entirely too soccer mom for my tastes :p

Nah, Trunk or Treating is great, especially if you have really little kids who can't walk that far. Plus, my area has some bad neighborhoods and also is bordering on the boonies, so it can be a huge walk to even fill up your candy bag 1/10 of the way full. Halloween is great if you live in the city or the 'burbs, but it can be kind of a pain if you're rural or live in a not-so-great neighborhood.

Not all of us live in a little suburban paradise. Trunk or treating is the only way some of these rural kids can do anything like this. You disgusting city dweller.

It would be more fun if you mixed them up so there was a surprise factor. Candy, poop, money, spiders, anthrax... would all be great bag ingredients.
