Hi guys....well I'm tryin to overclock my rig these days..trying to find its limits and everything...

So far, I have had to reset the jumper and/or take the battery out for a few moments three times....of which two were no-POST situations which happened in the last 24 hours or so, while the third was when my hard disk didnt get detected at all (not even in the BIOS), which happened a couple of days ago...

So, is this no-POST situation something really 'bad' ? Even though we can reset the settings and everything, but does it have any negative overall effect on the system ?.... I'm just a bit concerned about it :p...

Also, this no-POST situation ONLY happens now when I'm trying to OC the system...its never happened before, when i was running my rig at stock for like a year :)

I would say that you are OK with several no-POSTs. I know my computer has had at least 50 no-POSTs for various reasons and it still runs like a champ.

If you have powersupply problems that result in a no Post you might eventually blow something out, but that does not sound like your situation.

no post is fine when trying to OC. that's it's way of letting you know you've gone too far, or need more vcore or vdimm. it gets annoying to have to set the date and change all the settings each time though.
