Well... technologically comapred to GF3 and GF4, yes. Can it still run all current games and games coming out within the next 6 months or so at decent speeds? Yes.

IMHO, I would suggest that in the next couple months you would be best suited by an upgrade. The price of the GF4's will force down the current GF3 stock, and if cost is a concern this would be the best buy.

Don't worry about what people tell you. Until you can't play a game that you want at the speed and resolution you want, don't upgrade. It looks like you have reached that point, and it couldn't be a better time. You can pick up such good cards now (Radeon 8500/GeForce 3's) for just a little over $100. This is the best time I've ever seen to upgrade a graphics card.

Yes it is.

However if you're happy with it then that's all that matters and you don't need to upgrade to anything faster.

Well i have a Geforce2MX 400 and it runs all my games VERY nicely... It all depends on how you look at it. Generally though i dont feel that i need an upgrade anytime soon...

I would argue not. I am sure a Geforce 2 can still run any new game at 1024x768x32 no FSAA, maybe not above 60FPS constant, but playable none the less.

I have a G2 Pro. I also get the impression that I should stand up and upgrade, but when I think about why I would need to upgrade I sit right back down. I don't plan on upgrading this card until I can't play a game at 1280x1024x32 (RTCW, UT, C&C, Q3, etc.) anymore. So, even if the price of the cards are $100 today, tomorrow when that game that you want to play comes out (Warcraft 3, Doom, UT2, etc.) it definitly will be less.

Also, other system hardware would play a part in this question for anyone.

Happy Gaming...

I'd say it's getting a bit behind the times, but I definitely wouldnt classify it as completely obsolete.
Don't upgrade for future games, upgrade for what your playing now. Buy a new card when the games your purchasing will not run adequately on your present card.

As for the Warcraft 3 beta... it is a beta, hence it is unfinished. There is a definite chance that much work has yet to be done to optimize the game for performance.

Buy a new card when the games your purchasing won't run adequately. You could buy now.... but by the time you actually need the extra power of your new card there may well be cheaper/faster hardware out that could have been yours had you waited.

well i had a geforce 2 pro and i personally felt i needed an upgrade because games felt a little sluggish, so i went out and bought a ti200, and i'm very happy now. but that was just my personal feeling and a geforce2 pro is definitely not obsolete yet.
