Is Folgers the most disgusting coffee on the planet? Need a new coffee machine. help

Ugh. Best part of waking up my ass. Our coffee machine at work broke, and I need a recommendation for a new one. Now we are being tortured with this crap. I never put sugar in my coffee, but I had to with this. Luckily I drink a cup or two a month. But when I want one, it should taste good.

Any suggestions for a good machine that takes K-cups? I was burdened with the task of finding one and don't know ship about choosing a good coffee machine. Budget is $150.

Yeah, I have a post in Moderators forum to move it. I wasn't paying attention to where I put it. Although this forum isn't that off topic if I want a nice gadgety coffee machine. 🙂
 
I have had a keruig, the pump broke after a couple years and no amount of cleaning it made it work.

This is quite simply the best system I have purchased in a while:

I don't drink coffee often, but when we have guests, we can make a pot. If I want a cup to go, I can make a cup. And we buy beans and grind up small amounts at a time. Kcups are convenient, but many have issues with dull taste and cost. At least with this, I can get any kind of coffee i want through it.

i want that maker.

I drink 1-3 cups in the morning. But when we have guest it would be great to be able to make a cup.

just can't pull the trigger on a $80 coffee maker when my $13 one works fine
 
unground coffee is cheap and you can always pre grind it if you want it available when you need coffee without any preperation
 
Um, if you're set on k-cups then isn't your only choice a Keurig? If so, just get the most expensive one in your budget. They all work similarly.

Yeah, price is fairly high. But compared to the Keurigs we looked at during the time, it was cheap in comparison. And we are not big coffee drinkers. The big selling point for me was the having one machine do it all. Otherwise, my wife had a pot brewer sitting on a shelf that she would bring out when guests were over. Too much space taken up, etc. This thing has been awesome.

The only downside is if you want a stronger brew single, you have to brew multiple times with less water. If you over fill the container, the grounds spew over the top and into the coffee. I wish the container was a bit deeper, but it does its job well.
 
I've got a Bunn coffee maker at home. You have to use Bunn filters, but it works by keeping the water hot all the time... When you make coffee, the water comes out much hotter than other coffee makers. This does cost more to operate, but works great and makes great coffee.

For Coffee, I buy 8 O'Clock Columbian in 33oz bags from Amazon S&S. It's about $12.50 per bag...do the math....it's much cheaper than buying 11oz bags of the same stuff in stores. (sometimes it runs up to $6-7/bag)
 
Oh, if you go with a Keurig or clone, make sure it also has the ability to brew with your own grounds instead of k-cups (it's an attachment). It's possible this is standard on Keurigs and Keurig-clones but I'm not sure.

I don't know how many times this has saved me.
 
Can your company lease one of the industrial type Kuerig machines? We have a leased one at work that works well. Service company comes out about every 3 months to clean it and make sure it is working optimally. Here is the one we use: http://www.keurig.com/brewers/k150p-brewing-system

At home I have the premium or whatever one that Costco sells. Have had it for about 4 years now and have never once had an issue with it (use it daily and have never had to clean it either - I do use filtered water for it).

do you have to use a k cup machine?

do they make packets of coffee you can just pour into a regular machine? also is ground coffee in the k cups? why not just pour the k cups into the regular coffee machine?

and i usually drink tea by the way.
