Is firewire all it's cracked up to be should I get this instead of scsi 160 ?? Please help I am building a lan party case and want fast transfer..Thanks heatware evals

SCSI 160 is 160MegaByte/Second
Firewire is 400MegaBit/Second = 50 MByte/Sec

firewire is worth it but it's no replacement for scsi.

it's good for external ONLY, that's where the strengths are, to connect periphs, and high end a\v equipment ;-)

are there internal firewire HDDs already?

Firewire is worth it if you have / plan to buy a DV digital camcorder. If not, I don't know why you would ever use it. The only thing that I can think of is if you run a business from a computer and want an easy way to back everything up to an external drive often.
