Is FB-ram the same as generic?

I'm trying to save some money on my new workstation by ordering this ram (click) insead of getting price gouged by dell. Need to order 32gb worth, so I"m hoping not to screw this up.... (workstation is dell 690)

They are not the same. You probably do need the FB-DIMMs to support that much RAM, and they are usually very expensive.
