Is Falon Gong actually a cult?

I always assumed that China was just supressing a religion but from what I've been told it is actually more of a cult than a religion.....

Anyone know for sure?

Whats the REAL difference between a cult and religion? Just seems the ones in the majority of a religion call the minor ones a cult to keep their "flock" from leaving.

"In his book Cult Proofing Your Kids, Dr. Paul Martin, a psychologist who directs a recovery center for ex-cultists, observes that the definition of a cult involves far more than simply theological definition:

"(A cult is) .. a group that uses methods that deprive individuals of their ability to make a free choice. They use deceitful recruitment techniques, they deceptively and destructively use the devotees' energies, and they capture the devotee's minds .. to advance the goals of the group leaders to the actual or possible detriment of members, their families, or the community. .. Cults can include groups and organizations that are not typically viewed as cults"."

Paid political cult whose job is to stir sh!t up, that's why they're banned in China. The Chinese government doesn't like it when people stir sh!t up. Buddhism is a huge religion in China. Christianity is allowed in China as well. Again, Falon Gong is not a religion.

The REAL difference is simply the number of followers.

Ok anyone who has actualy knowledge about Falon Gong vs someone spouting their opinion about the subject.......

See for yourself.

It gets real cooky starting on page 2.

My entire mother's side of the family practices it. When I was young they tried to get me to practice it. I did for a time, thinking that it was just exercises. Then I realized that it was a religion, and a really screwed up one at that.

Different gods for each different race of humans. White people have their god. Chinese people have their god (Master Li/Shakyamuni/Siddhartha/The Buddha) - obviously the most enlightened god of them all (self-importance, anyone?).

Black people have their god, which Falun Gong believes has abandoned the black people because black people have become too evil.

They even have a KNOWN number of gods in the universe. Yes, they've arrived at a constant for the number of gods. And they're having an extradimensional war with aliens who are trying to take over the bodies of humans because the human body is the "most perfect form in the universe."

This is why human cloning is absolutely forbidden. Cloning a human does not clone his/her soul. So a cloned body will be essentially empty, just RIPE for the aliens to take over.
