This is actually a work-related issue. I'm tired of failed video card fans and find myself tempted by factory installed passive coolers. Are factory installed passive solutions are sufficient? I'm looking at something like this:

The cards will be installed in fairly roomy business-class HP tower system with front intake/rear exhaust fans.
I must use ATI GPUs. I looked into ASUS, PowerColor and Sapphire as well but didn't find much in terms of passive cooling on current GPUs.
