Is External Maxtor 120gb hd a regular hd inside? If so i wonder if it would work just like an internal one for an xbox. Anyway, how do i take it apart and is it hard?

It is a regular hard drive. I got in on the 40gb firewire drive deal awhile back and just removed the drive. Same, normal drive that you would buy in the store.

So they definately work outside of the case, but what's the best way to get them out without damaging the case?

If you look at the ends of the case all you need is a flat head screw driver to stick in the little slots to pop off the side brackets. The top then comes right off. VERY SIMPLE

I just wonder why buy an external hard drive to put inside a system? Internal hard drives are always cheaper (at least that I have seen). Unless you got a good deal. I guess it just seems kinda a waste to me...
