Is eVGA a good buy?

yes.

Good warranty, step-up and a very helpful and knowledgable community forum.

I have no regrets buying from eVGA and this was my first video card from them.

I thought their warranty lasts for lifetime only for original owner. I bought an AGP GeForce 6800GT from them this summer.

The warranty covers overclocking AND replacing the stock cooler.

You just have put the stock cooler back on when you send the card in for RMA.

AFAIK eVGA is the only company that covers replacing the stock HSF.

This thread from the MaximumPC forum has some interesting info about eVGA's so called "lifetime" warrenty.

Personally sounds like PNY's old life time warrenty to me.

Thanks for the link JBT.

Damn, I just ordered a 7800GT by eVGA. But well, they cover overclocks so its not that bad..

But I'm planning on purchasing a 6800GS for myself and now the eVGA is not #1 on my mind right now. Its XFX so far since they seem to be the only 6800GS manufacturers that have a lifetime warranty (and double at that). Too bad BFG doesn't sell the 6800GS or I'd be on that like white on rice. Is there another manufacturer that offers a better warranty or is BFG making a 6800GS soon, lol?

I've heard that too.

I think it will ultimately be up to eVGA on how they handle it. I think as long as they have a supply of the card, the card will be covered by the warranty.
