Not thinking, I said neither, Elmo is asexual.
"Whats asexual?"
Oh boy.....
We quickly defaulted back to Elmo is a boy.
"Then why is he wearing a dress?"

boy. i've heard them refer to him as a "he".

but he does seem to enjoy the cross dressing. i've seen him wear wigs, purses, and dresses.

I had to do a lot of baby sitting for little cousins, and since I was the guy who seemed to know everything their parents didn't want to tell them, they always asked me questions like "does Santa exist?" and stuff...

You just have to answer "Well, what do YOU think?" and when they answer, you say, "That's a pretty good answer. I'd have to say I agree with you." Or something like that.

yeah i think i've also heard him called "he" but rarely (not that i watch seasame street that much)
