Kids tend to bounce back. I think now that things have settled down that he's happier, if not happy. (I'm assuming his home life is stable).

I agree with Azraele, he is just a kid, and none of what happened last year is his fault. That said, I think he is as happy as a kid whos mother died in front of him, and who was taken from his father and thrust into a media circus before finally being allowed back with his parent can be. Hopefully now though, his life is relatively peaceful.
