Is earthlink domain being blocked?

Is the earthlink domain being blocked or are there temporary issues relative to Sprint DSL?
I was very sad last night...
Thank you,
Bill

Yes, I read that prior to this posting. Same issue, but I was able to get on AT via other domain (VPN) through the same pipe. The problem appears intermittent, as if blocking is in response to an event, which seems credible if an onslaught is occurring through my ISP provider. I am just hoping it is temporary.

Thanks, Bill

Happens to me upon occasion also w/ Sprint DSL through Earthlink. I can be logged in, view and send PMs , and read all posts, but if I try to post, it says error 189 you are not authorized to login (or something like that). Lasts from a few hours to a few days. No one knows why.

I think it would be a good idea for people having this issue to keep up with what their IP is when everything is normal and when they can't get in. The only thing that makes sense is some sort of IP ban.

Gone over all that with Anandtech - nothing banned from that end. Consensus was either router (which would seem to be eliminated since others have the problem) or something on earthlink's end. I just can't imagine what as nothing is affected except anandtech login.

edit: In fact, happening now. Posting this from dial-up. I'm logged in, but get error 189 when I try to post using DSL but not earthlink dial-up. So weird.
And it affects no other site on the internet except Anandtech.

Hi allisolm,

My situation is identical to yours. Earthlink/Sprint DSL (old NJ Telephone POTS). Same error.
When this happens, I can still get on using VPN client (work) through the same home network and Sprint.

Only started happening 2 weeks ago (for one hour). Then all day last week.

Thank you,
Bill
