is e6300 chip 1080p quicktime capable?

i'm looking to get the most cost effective chip for a new htpc build
or is core 2 duo an overkill?

the e6300 should be able to run it just fine, what about your graphics card though?

any C2D should playback 1080p nicely. if my p4 2.4C @ 2.9 can do it, im pretty damn sure a C2D chip can.

need a new graphics card too for the new rig too, any suggestions in the 250$ ish price range (currently using an oc 6800gt agp w/ a xp2500)

Got no problem playing 1080p QT trailers on my E6400 system w/ X1600Pro video card.

e6300 is overkill. It can outperform a Dual Core 3.8Ghz (Netburst) Pentium 4. When they say 3GHz it often referres to older pre Core 2 Duo chips. In other words you will be fine.
