Is DVI on an LCD *so* good it's worth giving up screen inches to get?

You have to decide based on your own criteria. I know I recently bought a 12X single layer DVD burner instead of a 16x dual-layer (at approx. the same price) because the 12X was a Plextor and the best of its type. If you have a tiny pee pee, go for the bigger screen, that's all that has a chance of compensating... 😉 .

If I'm not mistaken, 17" and 19" LCD's are generally the same resolution (that being 1280x1024), so in that case I'd just go for the one with DVI.

Is it just me or is Plextor not worth the premium it once was worth? I like their products, I have had 4 of their SCSI CDR/RW drives and all still work great. I just dont think their IDE products are worth the money when all it is are other brands repackaged.

to some people size is more important than resolution...

1280x1024 is nice because 640x480 will scale nicely on it. Makes a decent HDTV-substitute.
