What kind of "doctor" goes in to see a "patient" and then makes a press conference stating all kind of personal details about his so called patient?

Now I'm not defending the nutball Britney Spears but this guy is a fucking douchebag.

So Spears has been getting help from Dr. Phil... interesting what things you "miss" when your only idea of news is the ever increasing server queues .

On the planet no, but I'd rank the people who watch it and take what he says as gospel pretty close to your stated position.

He is rather clever at getting publicity though :)

From Wiki, he's not even licensed to practice:
Suspension of License to Practice

The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists imposed disciplinary sanctions on McGraw on January 27, 1989 for an inappropriate "dual relationship" reported in 1988 by a therapy client/employee from 1984. McGraw was ordered by the Board to take an ethics class, pass a jurisprudence exam, complete a physical evaluation, undergo a psychological evaluation and have his practice supervised for one year in order to continue his private practice in Texas. McGraw admits to giving the client a "job" at his office (which is not allowed), but denied carrying on a sexual relationship with the 19 year old, who says their relationship was "sexually inappropriate."[6][2][7] As of 2008, McGraw is still not licensed to practice therapy.

I could do his job.

Step 1: Find a pathetic person with issues or a person who has suffered trauma in their life
Step 2: Exploit them on national TV and make them feel special on the show by giving them attention and treating them like they are important
Step 3: Ask them, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" and offer them free councelling from a REAL psychologist.
Step 4: Laugh all the way to the bank.

OP,

Did it ever occur to you that this was Britney/her publicist/families idea? That perhaps they called in Dr. Phil? Of course not since you clearly accept what your told and do not use your brain for critical thinking.

Medical school? Yeah, I hear the University of North Texas is very highly regarded...

Yeah, I graduated from a 4th tier school and my dissertation was on Rheumatoid Arthritis...you should listen to what I have to say when it comes to mental health.

And what legitimate doctor would participate in such a stunt?
