Is Dr. Gene Scott (TV preacher) for real?

He is a cook and a half but he is for real, at least in his own mind. He is crazy. Me and a couple of buddies used to watch him at 2am about 20 years ago while drinking massive quantities because he was funnier than hell.

He comes off as an academic. However, I'd like to hear from.....people who have been "around the block"--the "non-innocents", for a true opinion.

Obviously he's very educated, but I can't help but wonder if he's not wacked out in front of the TV camera, and all these people are taking him seriously....

Same here. Remember his band? They played a song called "Kill a pissant for Jesus" - LOL. And he would wear those safari hats with a pair of sunglasses over reading glasses (or vice versa). I also loved how he berated everyone that worked there.

He is completely whacked out, take my word for it. He is a fruitcake to the nth degree, but he can be funny as hell. Anyone who buys his bill of goods needs a shrink as he is taking them to the cleaners.

HAHAHAHAHAHA........the song "Kill a pissant for Jesus" is what I remember the most, and those absurd hats he used to wear. One was a blue baseball cap with a big white splotch on it and it read "I hate seagulls". What a complete fool.

I remember that guy... never watched him, but I remember seeing him on tv all the time when changing channels back in the day. Is he even still alive?

This guy is a little crazy, but I've heard a lot of his sermons and can't say I disagree with him often. He seems to have a better handle on Christianity as a subject and a religion than most other people I've heard preaching the gospel. He has a website and if you're interested at all I suggest listening to some of his sermons he has archived there.
