Is dog/cat food edible for humans?

Hey is dog food or cat food safe for humans to eat? I mean if its hard to get by and you need to eat something.. will they harm you? Nice to have some meat over some ramen noodles huh?

I am a poor senior citizen and have dog food for almost every meal.

I do add a salad, however.

Once you get used to it, it's not that bad.

edit 12-26: I hope you know I was kidding.

One time I opened up our pantry and I saw some bacon in there, and I just thought "cool, bacon" and I took a piece out of the yellow packaging and took a bite............. and then I thought "it tastes like bacon!" and immediately after that thought "it tastes like bacon"I didn't get sick or anything, but the package says "unsafe for human consumption"

Those dog pellets are actually pretty good. It's sort of like they got pieces of bread, made them crispy, and added a beef/pepper flavor to it.

If you don't stare directly at it, Iams in milk looks a lot like Coco Puffs...

in an emergency i guesso, but otherwise its just probably way lower grade than human food. dogs and cats have those short digestive systems that let em lick and mouth most anything without getting sick like we would😛

This reminds me of Scooby Doo...

I guess they're not too bad just dont boil them in water into that mush stuff...

I was referring to the meat in the can stuff. Wonder if thats ok to eat.

I think the biscuit things are cornmeal, and the canned stuff is the meat processing stuff not suitable for humans. Believe it or not, it does NOT go into hotdogs!

My friend has a big can that has "BEEF" stamped on it.

On the side in small letters it says:

"Suitable for animal or military consumption"

Dog food includes all sorts of dead animals that died on the farm, offal, hair, etc etc. They aren't fit for human consumption, but it's highly unlikely that it'll hurt you.
