Is Distributed Computing only for Seti?

You might want to take another look as on the front page there are D2OL threads, Distributed Folding threads. On the second page you have Seventeen or Bust, Folding@Home, and ECC2.

I believe everyone here is aware we have a UD team there are just not many people who post from that project. If you would like to see more UD threads feel free to start some up 🙂
 
i do UD on one box (athlon 850)
i try to keep at least one box on all of the projects that interest me, while putting the bulk of my Ghz on my favorite 🙂
 
I only have one box and I run SETI on it, but I'm glad to report that the DC forum is teeming with more projects than I can even keep track of. 😕 Diversity is good, and if I had some more PCs I would go exploring 😀

It's true that for a number of us, SETI is our primary project of focus, but a great many of us are also involved in other projects too; I, for one, am currently involved with D2OL and F@H as well as SETI. 🙂

We're free to pick which projects we support, but we can also be influenced by the number and content of the posts in the forums, sort of like advertising. So if you'd like to see more of us involved in UD, the best way to do that is step forward and start posting about it - get involved, maybe become a stats keeper - promote the UD project. 😉

SETI isn't the only threads in here these days. :Q

Why I have to actually look to find the SETI threads amongst the D2OL and other DC project threads (and that's a great thing 🙂).

As others suggested, get together with the other UD TeAm mates, and figure out who would be willing to do a stats thread, find someone (yourself maybe) to do Milestone Maker threads, and feel free to post exciting news/info pertaining to the UD project(s).

The more the merrier, I say! 😀
 
If these peeps can put up with my annoying 'White Elephant' threads, I'm sure
they'd welcome yours too. 😀

Oh yeah, I may be #1 in overall production on the SETI team but I'm also #8 (and rising 😀 ) on the Distributed Folding team. So to answer your question. No, this forum is not only for SETI. 😉

Heh... Considering you're WAAAAAY ahead of me and we're close in production I don't think you have anything to worry about. For now... 😉 😛

I did put up a P3 laptop today with 256MB so it's using the extra RAM feature. Fear me! 😉

Hmmm... Checking the stats it looks like I should be moving up pretty soon. Hope it lights a fire under those ahead of me to keep me back! 😛

Yep, 6 weeks ago D2OL was rarely heard about. Now its one of the hottest projects going with huge leaps in progress and we are already 5th in the World and soon to be 3rd.

If you wanna hit a home run, you gotta step up to the plate.. 🙂
