Is Display port 1.4 absolutely essential in a monitor to run 40K 60Hz with 10 bit colors(8 bit+FRC)?

I been eyeing a LG 43 inch monitor which can do 4K at 60Hz that comes with 2 DP v 1.2, Four HDMI (2 x 1.4 & 2 x 2.0) and one USB-C type connectors.

I would love to get this monitor primarily because of its screen real estate and the price it is available at. But my issue so far is whether this monitor will be able to display output at 4K 60Hz with 10 bit colors (8 bit + FRC.) Now I know this monitor's brightness is only 350 cd/m2 and HDR is already a bust on this screen at such low brightness levels, but I was wondering if the monitor is still capable the level of bandwidth I mentioned using the Display ports or HDMI?

LG 43ud79t is the monitor model. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor model? I will be using a 1080ti as the video card. Can this model support a dual link DP connection?

4k 60hz at 10bit depth is 15.68 Gbit/s

DP 1.2 supports 17.28gbps
HDMI 2.0 supports 14.4gbps

So you'd need to use displayport, but it should work.

I have a 43UD79-b and the Nvidia control panel says i'm using RGB full range with 10bpc. Using DP 1.2.

HDMI 2.0 can handle 4k @ 60hz 10bit 4:2:0 or 12bit 4:2:2. Display port 1.2 can handle 4k @ 60hz 8bit and 1.3 can handle 10bit at the same resolution so display port 1.4 is fine as it can go all the way to 7860x4320 @ 60hz with 10bit color. So as far as the connection and cable type, you'll be fine.

Quality is good, I've been using this panel for ~3 months now as my primary display with a 25" 1440p as a secondary.

I don't do anything super color accurate on it though, so I can't speak to that. Mainly used for media viewing and CIv5.

Why you guys discussing 4k monitors while the thread title states 40k @ 60Hz? /s
