Is Dick Cheney dead?

The shopping would have to be done and have long been done, since he's reportedly getting ready to close, as it generally takes anywhere from two weeks (at a bare minimum) to well over a month or more to close on a house.

But it's no surprise to see such a specious and tenuous claim passed along from conjur.

btw, where has Kerry been? What about Teddy, or Pelosi, or Pat Robertson? How many of them have made their way to NOLA in person thus far to help out in the effort?

Yep, because everyone knows, having Cheney going down there to shake hands and kiss cheeks helps out tremendously.

Yeah, that deferred compensation from Haliburton, which has been having banner years lately for some reason, should be kicking in....

You know Cheney has a family and is probably a nice guy in real life. A lot of the Democratic politicians you all worship are his friend. Shame on you for the personal attacks.

Don't know much about buying a house, eh?

Securing a loan (i.e. - getting prequalified) is generally done before you contract for a house. It's the title searches and all the paperwork on the home purchase itself that take the most time prior to closing. Heck, when I bought my house I had already signed a contract and switched mortgage brokers in between the signing and closing because the first one I had was not doing his job and was trying to rip me off.

Closings here in NJ are usually specified in the contract at 30, 45, or 90 days.

I'm certain that concessions are made for Cheney. Do you actually believe Cheney goes through the same mortgage process as the rest of us plebes???

Bwahahahaha. That's really funny.

Heh. I'll call him up and apologize. Got his phone number??

Umm... Excuse you, but...

A. The link is to an article with yesterday's date (September 5, 2005) in the Washinton Post, which is hardly a "tenuous" source.

B. BlueWeasel posted the link, not conjur.

WTF difference does it mean where they are? Cheyney is second in command in the administration, and so far, he's been highly noticeable only in his absence.

Why said anything about a mortgage? Cheney is nothing if not savvy. Title insurance and a property appraisal can easily take a week to two, even if a cash sale.

Well, to clarify, I just copy and pasted the same link that Conjur provided in one of the other hurricane response threads.

The link claims rumors of Cheney closing on a house in St Michaels, not "mansion shopping."

Didn't even read his response, eh? Let me help you out, since you're so frequently comprehension impaired:

non of those individuals were elected or recieved votes from there, for one thing. Also they are not part of the executive office.

Considering miketheidiot's post repeating the main point of mine, maybe you should consult that guy you see in the mirror.

I think Cheney is having his head dewatered... or whatever that silly term is that I keep hearing.

"Dewatering" is not a silly term. It is a very specific civil engineering word.

You did use it in a most innovative way.😉
