Is Diablo II too long?

For those who have played Diablo II and finished it, I applaud you. For those of you who have finished it more than once, I think you have a LOT of patience.

I don't know about you people, but do you think the maps on Diablo II were a bit too large and boring? (Especially in the jungle)

I was looking for a way or a hack to make it so that if I killed a creature, then saved the game, I wouldn't run into it again (so, I would have clean maps) but I can't find anything! oh well.....bitch bitch bitch

i didnt think it was too long, but i do agree some parts are just on and on without any interesting twists. i started it again in nightmare mode in hopes of finding more magic items but just hack and slash over and over again made me stopplaying it. however it was pretty fun the first time through it.

It's not too long. Didn't take me long to beat...but damn it sure did take me a while in nightmare mode.

I finished it single play as a barberian, went through normal, nightmare and hell as a sourcress on battlenet, and then went through normal and nightmare as a necromancer on battlnet.

And it is to short, should be longer.

I was dissapointed with D2 - I finished it and had fun, but then after finishing (only played on b.net, mainly by myself) I triedn ightmare and found about 1/8 of the way through that I was bored. So I started an amazon, got bored in jungle, then started a paladin...get my drift? The game is extremely boring after finishing it once.

To the people who have 90+ levels on battle.net, I feel they shoudl be put down for the betterment of mankind, or at least used as slave labor. These people truly are worthless.

After about ActIII Level I, I got sick of playing it the 'long' way. Started with the money dupe cheats and soon after went right into full character mods.

I ain't got enough time/patience to run through all those HUGE maps, especially since all there is to them is size and no content. "It ain't how big it is, it's what you DO WITH IT!"

No replay value to me.

I love the game.

Socket, Gem and Way Point editors help speed things up and keep the game interesting. BTW, I don't play Battle Net.

I think that the fun in the game isn't completing quest or anything--it's creating your character. Since there's so many variations of characters to make--the game is highly replayable. It's fun to try different characters that deviate from the norm--like a necro that doesnt cast massive armies or a sorceress that uses lightning spells exclusively. Beating the game is actually pretty quick as soon as you do it the first time since all the quest are the same. But trying to build a character to hold his own against the best on battlenet makes the game a lot more fun.

I liked the cow level... good stuff there.

I stopped playing Diablo, and have actually started playing Asheron's Call... Now there is an RPG!

I am looking forward to a new MMRPG though, something that I can join from the ground up (much like I did with UO).

Diablo, schmiablo, play Baldur's Gate II! Now that is a great cRPG. Actually, I like Diablo II as well, but BGII is just awesome.
