I googled this and the results were unclear, so wanted to know the opinions/facts around here

Is diabetes directly related to sugar conumption?

No it is either no production of insulin or the body won't use the insulin that is created. Sugar isn't trully related accept that eating a lot sugar causes your body to have an insulin rush to clear the bloodstream of glucose.

The main purpose is not to clear the blood of glucose though it is actually to help store nutrients and keep the body healthy, clear the blodd is just one of it's roles along with other chemicals.

I'm not 100% sure, but from personal experience hereditary has to be a factor IMO 🙁

No.

Type-1 diabetic has a genetic component (body doesn't produce insulin after your immune system attacks the islets of langerhorn on the pancreas), and type-2 is related to the body not using insulin that is created.

there are different types of diabetes. 1 kind does indirectly relate to sugar (the insulin thing) but the other doesn't.

no direct relationship, however, there may be a small one..

if you are over 40, and you consume too much sugar, you obviously will become fat- and being fat (obesity) is a cause of type two diatebes in people usually over 40.
