Anyplace that the authorities don't do their jobs to protect citizens lives and property becomes a place where citizens take their own security into their own hands. Only authoritarian liberals want to take that right away from responsible citizens.

You can see at least one of the reasons why things are so bad in Detroit.

"Half of Detroit property owners don't pay taxes
News analysis finds $246.5M in taxes went unpaid last year"

Delinquency is so pervasive that 77 blocks had only one owner who paid taxes last year, The News found. Many of those who don't pay question why they should in a city that struggles to light its streets or keep police on them.

Theres no such thing as a self-defense haven.
When you need force to protect your life on a daily basis something has gone seriously wrong.

Its simple. Violence is so prolific in Detroit, that the risk of getting caught breaking a firearms law is now outweighed by the odds of needing said firearm to protect yourself.

Case in point is the worker who got in trouble for having a gun at work. Yeah, he is in trouble, that sucks. Of course otherwise, he would be dead. So there is that. I bet you he has zero regrets.

First of all the security guard fired two shots before the criminals fled according to the news story that is linked to in the blog that is cited in the OP.

The armed couple both had handguns. Surveillance video shows them being greeted at the door by the receptionist. The business owner was sitting in a chair against the wall. The bad guy pointed his gun at the receptionist's head. The security guard in the office pulled out an AR-15 rifle. After the shootout, the security guard lunged to the door.

"The security guard that was inside returned fire, two shots at the suspect. Did not hit him. The suspects then fled the location," said Inkster Police Detective Lieutenant Jeffrey Smith.

The couple ran off in different directions. Police do not believe the man or the woman were wounded.

The security guard shot twice, once through a doorway and a round directly through a wall.

The guy didn't need a high capacity magazine. He would still have had 28 rounds left in a typical 30 round magazine for an AR-15.

If the libs knock it down from 7 to 2 rounds, he would fire off 2 warning shots and then get jumped.

Hell even at 7, you could take your chances.

WTF are you bleating about? 30 rounds is find for the magazine capacity of a rifle. I'd rather see better enforcement to crack down on black market gun dealers and a better way to keep weapons out of the hands of the mentally disturbed.

Not everyone fits into the stupid little categories you want to put them in.

I agree with you I was being a little sarcastic. I think magazine caps are dumb. The guy was saying he didn't need 30 so I was poking fun at the libs never ending capacity restrictions. First 20, then 10, now they push for 7. Obviously they don't stop.

What next two? Warning shots only! Although you couldn't back it up :awe:

Making fun of the magazine capacity ninny picking.

I wonder if they could make some money for the town by investing in self defence tourism.

A bunch of rich gun lovers from neighbouring areas could come in and be given a tour of the worst areas of town.

The tour guide would provide bulletproof vests and assault rifles for the group.

They would walk down streets and alleys while the guide would attempt to use the freedom of speech to encourage the natives to attack so that self defence could be enjoyed.

There could be an initial fee plus an extra expense for each kill and extra fees for full video to take home.

Works for me. Go on offense rather than waiting passively for the need to utilize self-defense.
