Is Dell faster or slower than they say they are?

I ordered a laptop last night from Dell. They rep assured me it would ship by the 18th and my order screen is confirming that.

How accurate is that? Is that low estimate, high estimate, or are they right on?

It all depends. You ask a question to which there can be no REAL answer. Most of the time Dell ships earlier than their suggested date. But I have had them ship late as well.

Dell usually overshoots the estimated shipping/delivery date.

This has been my personal experience in ordering over $200k from Dell.com (Home/Small Business/EPP).

Dell usually ships before the estimated ship date.

I ordered a vostro laptop 5 days ago, says it will ship 12/17, we shall see. Also ordered multiple dell desktops, already have one of them.

They usually ship much faster. I ordered 2 Vostros under EPP and got them the same day next week.
