Is DDR333 noticably slower than DDR400?

Question is pretty straightforward: will DDR333 (PC2700) make any significant difference in performance versus DDR400 (PC3200)? I currently have 1 stick of 333 and 1 stick of 400, for a total of 1024MB. I do not plan to overclock.

And yes, I tried searching the forums for this, couldn't find the info I needed.

You need to say what processor you have in order for anyone to answer that question. PC3200 would not be any faster that PC2700 on an Athlon XP 2500+ Barton at stock speeds. It would be faster on a Pentuim 4 with a 200MHz bus speed.

It would be better, perhaps more noticeably on a P4 with that bus speed; P4s in general are very bandwidth-dependent for performance. Generally, though, the answer is no, and if you have good underrated PC2700 (like Crucial) you can probably get it to PC3200 easily. It's always worth a shot, considering the chips are likely mostly the same (between your two sticks, assuming same brand).

Ok, I'm using a A64 3200+ Clawhammer with 1MB cache. The PC3200 is Kingston ValueRam, the 2700 is a pull from a Dell, it's some generic brand I've never heard of.
