Dolce & Gabbana, I imagine. I can't keep up with fashion myself, so I have no idea why I know that.

Meh, D&G has some ugly bag designers. LV and Coach will always be popular, just like Hermes, Balenciaga, Bally, Marc Jacobs (newish), Prada, Chloe, Valentino, etc.

Once again, be careful with the word popular. If price is part of the equation, then none of those will ever be popular.

LOL, wha? I'm pretty sure you and everyone else can figure out what "popular" means here.
Odd.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. You make a lot of assumptions with that claim. A lot of these brands you speak of are "cool" because they are usually quality goods at a very high price point. The fact that they carry a high price point keeps them from being popular. If they were popular, then they wouldn't be special, and thus people with larger bank accounts (or credit cards) would not be so willing to overpay for them.
If you ask an average American about what they buy, none of these brands will be popular. Some may desire them, but a lot of it is artificial inflation of worth through advertising and word of mouth. Certainly these are not items for the common person, which is a highly suggested theme with the word popular.
Now, because you know of all of these brands, it's possible that you are immersed in a social culture where these are popular. That doesn't make it true for everyone everywhere though.
popular (regarded with great favor, approval, or affection especially by the general public) "a popular tourist attraction"; "a popular girl"; "cabbage patch dolls are no longer popular"
