Crysis has it's upsides and it's downsides (judging from the demo)

AI is hard, but it cheats. So people who got sick of strolling through HL2 looking at daisies while "hardest" enemies shot at potted plants 20 feet away from them might like it. People who like stealth will be disappointed (at least in the demo level) since cover is 100% useless, cloaking is 99% useless, and staying a mile away prone with silencer = godmode. The game looks good, but level looks are certainly not creative (Bioshock on the other hand looked good, was creative, and ran on 1/10th the machine Crysis requires due to clever level implimentation). Weapon mechanics (of the four I've used) were horrible. They were NOTHING like actual gun use. Damage and accuracy didn't recreate anything close to any gun in existance... and there was almost no reason to use anything other than your starting rifle unless it was out of ammo. Shotgun didn't even require aiming. If they were on your screen and less than 15 ft away from you, guess who's dead? Pistol might as well have been a slingshot. Chest shots from it did ~ 10% damage to the enemies.

Different guys like different things in Shooters. I like weapon mechanics that are realistic and damage formula's that are fair and logical (not necessarily realistic). Crysis fails hard on both of those levels. If you're looking for arcade style dynamics where the combat's mostly about who has the bigger gun, then I can see it's appeal. I like those games, but not in 3d.

so what skill level did you play crysis on?

i played on delta twice. enemies take a lot, yeah, but if you headshot them, they always go down. your suit also can't take as much

and at close range, shotgun + small spread = dead koreans.

cloaking not useful? honestly.. wtf. cloaking is oh-so-useful at hiding, because you can't snipe everyone, every time.

SP is worse playing a couple times until the mountain.

MP is annoying. Tried it once, seemed chaotic. Base raping, weapons buying, spawn camping and huge distances to traverse to get into action killed it. Fun, not worth buying exclusively for.

Even the single player isnt worth it, COD4 has a way beter single player. Crysis graphics are nice but not optimized very well game play is very much lacking imo.

whoa whoa whoa

Lithan must really hate this game, but you would be wrong to believe everything he said.

if you want the AI to be very challenging (harder then delta), it is completely possible.

one part is using the right config like one here (AI tweaks):

if you need to, you can also change the AI's sight range & attack range using sandbox2.
