That's where I cleaned up a few years ago. When I got married and my wife moved in she had a boatload of Crate & Barrel furniture we put up and every single piece sold in a week at asking price. Which is why I think it has a lot to do with the current economy and some to do with Craiglist's bad image in the media. My wife refuses to let the buyers in our apartment these days because of all the murder stories. Lucky my building has a conference room I can schedule.
When the scammers want to arrange a "mover" to come pick up the merchandise, is anyone else tempted to give them a false address (of an abandoned warehouse) and beat the snot out of the "mover"?
I am amazed that they are still trying to pull it off but it probably means people are still falling for it.
