Is cracking open a non-P4 PSU the same experience as a P4 one?

I'm wanting to replace the fan in my TruePower380S but I've never cracked open a PSU.

I got my old P3 system sitting around, I might as well practice opening up the PSU on that system. But it has no square 4-pin connector, has the technology been static enough that it doesn't really matter and will give me the same experience?

opening a PSU is opening a PSU. The basics of it are the same. Newer ones will be a good deal more crowded but that is pretty much it... If you are going to opeing it up an yway, you might as well sleeve the beast it will make it look sexy!
