Is Costco a good place to purchase a mattress from?

I am shopping around for a new mattress and quite honestly, don't know how to buy one. Been checking different mattress discount stores and can't believe how expensive they can get. I see that Costco sells Seally mattresses. Wondering if they would offer the best prices for a mattress or should I just try and find the best price I can at a local mattress discounter? Thanks.

Also, if you have any suggestions on how to shop for a mattress, please let me know. Thanks.

From what I've seen, Costco has great prices on some really nice mattresses.
I'm planning on buying the king sized Mira Loma II for $649 in a couple of months if they still have them.

I've been looking at mattresses for a while now and I must say it has to be one of the most frustrating purchases a consumer can make. There are so many deceptive practices by both manufacturers and vendors that it's ridiculous.

That said, I think Costco is a pretty good place to buy a mattress. The selection is quite limited but at least you are guaranteed you are getting a brand new, quality mattress at a fair price. You might be able to find a better deal elsewhere but you'll have to work for it.

YES!

1) They sell high quality Sealy Posturpedic mattresses.
2) Their prices are almost always better than that of bed & mattress stores with commission based sales people.
3) CostCo's return policy is the BEST of any retailer.

Every January CostCo usually sends it's members a CostCo Passport savings book which has a $60 off coupon plus they put their Sealy Posturpedic Mira Loma Queen on sale for $399 - $60 off coupon = $339 an absolutely incredible price!

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll be stopping by Costco tomorrow. I was planning on picking up the Sealy Posturpedic Mira Loma Queen mattress. It is around my price range. I am getting married so unfortunately, I can't wait until January 🙂

Somebody said in another thread that it doesn't really matter what brand you get. Just get what's comfortable for you....

Here's my suggestion: Get a sheet of egg crepe (it may be labeled as a mattress pad) from the bedding dept. at Target or Wal-Mart. Put that on top of the mattress then put your ground sheet over it. Makes the bed SOOOOOOOO soft and comfortable. 😀

I can attest to this. It makes sleeping on a dorm bed VERY comfortable.

I've got one of the eggshell foam mattress pads too. It is nice, but I can still feel the lumps and bumps of my old mattress.

I just ordered the Sealy Posturpedic Mira Loma Queen mattress from Costco online. Does anyone know how long they take to ship? I live about a mile from Costco. Is it delivered from the local Costco or from the factory?

I would have bought at your local CostCo B&M assuming they have it in stock.

Otherwise I think there is a $99 delivery fee and could take 4-6 weeks (just guessing).

It said delivery is free. There is a 1-800 number I can call to cancel my order if I want. I guess I can go see if Costco has it in stock. Before I ordered it, I thought it would be like Officemax and just deliver it from their local store. Didn't realize it would take that long to deliver 🙁

I prefer Sam's Club. They seem to have better customer service. However where I live, there is not Costco within driving distance.

Sometimes I go there during lunchtime on weekends and munch on their samples. Sometimes they have nice ladies serving the samples but most of the time, they are old grouchy grandmothers. I can usually get full on their samples though.

Hey pal there's only room for 1 CostCo zealot here!

If I won the lottery, the first thing I would do is go shopping at Costco. I frickin love that place.

First purchase would be the 42" plasma and a new laptop.
