new hdd works in test bed, but not in pc #2, but test hdd works in pc #2 and test bed. maybe new hdd has intermittent issue in its logic board? sound like a mobd problem to you? thankz
 
RU using the same IDE cable? If not, possibly a bad cable? It happens. I always keep a new HD cable as a spare to test for these things...
