I think for the masses all digital console will have more overall impact than with PC gamers. PC gamers were already used to not being able to return or trade in games (for the most part).

While they've been edging this way for awhile in the console world, it is going to be a rude awakening that your many games are worth pretty much zero once the next gen arrives.

Maybe not though...

The only reason why I still buy physical console games is that I can resell them any time I want. I made that mistake of buying PS3, Xbox 360, and PS4 games digitally because I eventually resold those consoles but those digital games can't be resold and are just sitting there in my Xbox and PS accounts where as if I would have bought the physical versions I would have got much more money when I sold those consoles. I prefer digital with PC because you can't resell PC games these days due to them being tied to accounts, whether you buy a physical copy or a digital copy. Also you can find more deals on physical games over digital games plus I have a Best Buy GCU membership which gets me good discounts on physical video games. However, if consoles decide to go all digital in the future or if console games start needing to be tied to users accounts whether you buy a physical or digital version and not require the disc in the drive to play them anymore, like PC games requiring Steam, Origin, and Uplay, I would still buy console games.
